Did you know? Over 200 artificial languages have been created for books, movies and TV shows.
Despite the frustration of ‘lockdown 3.0’, we’ve been pushing on nonetheless and by no means letting it get in our way! Our new video product, Kudos – your video link to language, is now 6 months old, and this week we are launching it in its first international market – Argentina! As we reach the middle of what has been a somewhat interesting year so far (!), we’re putting all our energy into continuing to develop our client base and existing collaborations, boosting our website performance and online presence and thinking of innovative ways we can provide flexible services and ongoing support to clients affected in different ways by the events of the past year and a half.
So, what have we been up to?
We are so excited to be bringing Kudos to our Argentinian members! Subscriptions available here and take a look at our free trial to get started. If you missed our taster vignettes then you can catch up and watch them on our LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as our brand new promo video which gives you a real flavour of what to expect from Kudos videos and worksheets. Let 2021 be the year you take your English language learning to the next level:
· Brand new library of premium video packages for professional English language learning
· Commercially-focused, interactive and specific needs-oriented
· Accessible and affordable way to build your confidence and accuracy when speaking English
· Membership subscription scheme currently aimed at intermediate and above speakers – other levels to be introduced over the coming months
We can’t wait to be part of your journey and want to make our library personal to you, so please let us know via Instagram messaging what you would like to improve on – we will then take your needs and produce a video for you.
Kudos is your library – a tool for you to use, giving you confidence, poise and fun – we hope you enjoy it!
One of the most positive things that has come from the challenges of 2020 is the new relationships we have formed with businesses looking to use this year to focus on their language service requirements – or who have been forced to tackle this area as a result of Covid-19 changes or threats. The past few months have seen a wealth of new translation clients brought on board from the industries of medical devices and research (remote Zoom interpreting), corporate innovation, civil engineering and construction, diversity events (subtitles for a virtual awards ceremony), recruitment (English copywriting), psychometric testing, and account-based marketing (voiceovers for a technology product marketing video). Our project managers have been working tirelessly to service and develop these exciting new relationships and we thank them enormously for all their hard work!
On the training side, despite the excitement of the Kudos video library, we’re still receiving enquiries for good old face-to-face language training and cultural training. We are thrilled to announce that this week we have started up English language training again with MoD/Capita. We are particularly proud, because as a joint preferred supplier, we won 100% of the courses that were put out to tender.
Additionally, following a rigorous tender process, we were also recently re-awarded our cultural training contract with BMW. Given the world-wide presence that BMW has, we can’t wait to deliver some informative, practical and fun sessions for employees relocating across the globe.
We’re extremely proud of the solid relationships we’ve built up with longstanding clients, and we look forward to furthering our support for them.
We continue to supply training by video conference too and earlier this year, completed a 3-month long, semi-intensive training course for a senior Iraqi Naval officer and just recently a 4-week English course for a Swedish General. What more will the rest of 2021 bring?
This week, we’re very excited to be welcoming Laura, our new translation Project Manager. It’s lovely to have a new face in the team and we’re looking forward to getting her up to speed on all things Dialogue!
We are also currently recruiting a localisation engineer (who will support on project management too) to keep ourselves ahead of the incredibly fast-moving technological advancements present in the language services industry these days. We look forward to embracing these changes with the support of another new team member!
Thanks to the lockdown rules, we had to cancel a team dinner which we were all looking forward to! The alternative (and obvious) solution? Dress up in the stupidest things we could find in our houses and have a Zoom party instead!
Apologies in advance for sharing this rather embarrassing evidence…here’s hoping it hasn’t scared Laura away already!
A brief update on our phone system which is fully-functioning and enables us to transfer you to any one of the team as normal. Just give us a ring on our main number (01793 513 321) and let us know who you’re looking for and we’ll be happy to help.
