Dialogue Newsletter – July 2021

Did you know? SMEs making use of international languages have 30% better success in exporting…

We can’t quite believe that we’re halfway through 2021 already! Much excitement in the Dialogue team this month as June was one of the highest sales months we have had in all of our (now 27!) years to date. We cannot thank our brilliant clients, freelancers and colleagues enough – we couldn’t have done it without you! Our Kudos video library is going strong and we now have around 100 subscribers to our free trial option, and are looking forward to receiving their feedback as they progress through the video library. We’re also welcoming some lovely new team members this month (more on this below!) so the rest of this year is about pulling together, optimising our training and marketing efforts and continuing to build up our fantastic client relationships.

So, what have we been up to?

ISO accreditations re-awarded

We’re thrilled to announce that we have been re-awarded both of our existing ISO accreditations for 2021/2022 – ISO 9001:2015 and the translation-specific, ISO 17100:2015. We are audited on an annual basis and it’s thanks to our brilliant team that we have passed for yet another year with flying colours!

Kudos – Your Video Link to Language

Don’t miss out on your free Kudos trial and pass onto family and friends looking to improve their professional English skills – subscriptions available here. If you missed our taster vignettes then you can catch up and watch them on our LinkedInFacebook and Instagram pages, as well as our latest promo video which gives you a real flavour of what to expect from Kudos videos and worksheets. Let 2021 be the year you take your English language learning to the next level:

  • Brand new library of premium video packages for professional English language learning
  • Commercially-focused, interactive and specific needs-oriented
  • Accessible and affordable way to build your confidence and accuracy when speaking English
  • Membership subscription scheme currently aimed at intermediate and above speakers – other levels to be introduced over the coming months

It’s been a brilliant few weeks for language training at Dialogue – July began with an exciting flurry of German language training activity for one of our clients with a European base. For staff relocating to another country, it can be daunting and even more so for their spouses and children, so we are pleased to be delivering German language training to ease the transitioning process. With up to 10 learners so far since May, all from the US and UK, levels range from Beginner through to C1 and it’s fantastic to see not only how much progress has been made, but also how much confidence within the students has grown in over just a few months!

Finally, we were thrilled to receive notification from MoD of new Military English courses throughout July and August. With a total of 9 teaching positions on offer, Dialogue was successful in being awarded 90% of them and our tutors are looking forward to delivering Military English training both remotely and face to face at the Shrivenham base in Wiltshire.

Over on team translation, our project managers are working round the clock with a sense of things really getting back to normal post-pandemic and translation requests coming through thick and fast! We welcome another brand new client this month from the psychometric testing industry, a field with which we are particularly familiar as we already have a wealth of longstanding clients working in this area. We have been able to use the same psychometric-trained linguists who have worked on similar projects for us and therefore have an excellent grasp of the tricky terminology that crops up from one assessment to another!

This month, we’re delighted to be welcoming 3 brand new colleagues to Dialogue! Clizia is our new Translation Project Manager, Georgina joins as our new Marketing Executive, and Juraj will be our new Localisation Engineer and Translation Project Manager. So it’s full steam ahead in terms of training and settling in! Juraj will also be helping us look into new Translation Memory System (‘TMS’) options for us to put in place in order to streamline our project management processes and increase our workload and productivity. Exciting times ahead!

Last month, we had our first monthly, face-to face team meet-up following our decision to continue working from home full-time. The day involved (as well as working hard of course!) a delicious lunch provided by our very own Chef Shimwell, some seriously competitive croquet and glasses of well-deserved fizz, which we popped to mark about 6 months since we had all seen each other (any excuse!)

We now have a live chat function on our website so please feel free to contact us there if you are short on time and would prefer to drop us a quick message!

Our phone system is fully-functioning despite our remote working set-up. It enables us to transfer you to any one of the team as normal. Just give us a ring on our main number (01793 513 321) and let us know who you’re looking for and we’ll be happy to help.

Alternatively, visit our website for more info or email us at [email protected] and [email protected] if that’s your preference!
